1st meeting, 12th session Open-ended intergovernmental working group (OEIGWG).


The 12th session of the open-ended intergovernmental working group on transnational corporations and other business enterprises with respect to human rights (OEIGWG) is scheduled for 12 to 16 October 2026 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Open-ended intergovernmental working group (OEIGWG) to elaborate an international legally binding instrument to regulate, in international human rights law, the activities of transnational corporations and other business enterprises, A/HRC/RES/26/9


Location: Palais des Nations (Room XII), Geneva, Switzerland.
Mandate: Operating under HRC Resolution 26/9 and HRC Decision 56/116 to draft a legally binding business and human rights instrument.
Program of Work: Runs from Monday to Friday, featuring the presentation of the Chair's proposals for Articles 12–24 and Articles 1–3, general statements, interactive discussions, and concluding with the adoption of the report on 16 October.

Eligible Participants: States, specialized agencies, A-status national human rights institutions, and ECOSOC-accredited NGOs.
